Skin care / Clean beauty

I felt it is about time to share my skin care preferences as with the time they become less and less when it comes to quantity. During the past years I have used so many products from so many brands and naturally when I changed my diet everything else moved with it. Nowadays I buy only with two thoughts in my mind that are guiding my decisions: “conscious choices” and “quality over quantity”. No more impulsive purchases satisfying a craving for the buying process itself.

The items in my bathroom are becoming so sparse that it is better to show what I have now before I start living and using only baking soda. No, just kidding… I have tried the no-poo method and it did not work for me. Shame because it would have been so economical and truly minimal.

My main choices when it comes to haircare are the shampoos and conditioners from 100% pure as I find they are the most natural and clean products I have used so far. My favorite shampoo is the Burdock & Neem Healthy Scalp Shampoo and my favorite conditioner Yuzu & Pomelo Glossing Conditioner. I am trying a new brand right now called Dr. Konopka’s as the ingredients are quite satisfying and the end product is much cheaper. So far I am liking the results.

I wash my body with a natural soap like the Organic Soap with Bulgarian rose. If I am using a body scrub I usually go for the good, old baking soda or the Peeling Pearl Shell Particles form Hristina Cosmetics. Super cheap but amazingly good and the smell is divine. I stopped using body lotions and creams as I believe they only clogged my pores not allowing my skin to breathe. Instead I go for coconut oil or one of Dr. Morses salves. Incredible for acne, eczema, burns, cuts etc. and extremely healing.

I clean my face with the same items when it comes to scrubs. I follow this procedure by applying the Eucalyptus Seafoam Facial Cleanser, which cleanses the pores and detoxifies the skin. The finishing touches I do using the Rose and Jasmine Organic Facial Cleanser and Wash and my all time favorite Bulgarian Organic Rose Water. As a face cream I use again the salve from Dr. Morse’s Herbal Health Club.

There are three goodies I have @ all times: baking soda, coconut oil and aloe vera gel. The first two I combine for my homemade deodorant and toothpaste. Aloe vera gel is great for sun burn.

Always remember beautiful skin comes from within; thus it is more important to spend your money on fresh, raw, plant-based food than on any kind of cosmetics.

Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness.
